ANNOUNCEMENTS
‘Apelila – ‘Eperēra – April 2024
Happy April! We are now in our 4th month of our Spring/Summer 2024 Season. We will continue to review our Hula and ‘Ori Tahiti Basics. We have been learning Part 2 or our ‘Ōte’a Moana. Please be sure to practice your basics so we can continue learning our ‘Ōte’a without having to relearn each basic. It is very important that they continue to practice.
We had our 1st Community Performance at the Curtain Foundation Cultural Showcase. We were also featured on the front page of the Signal. We look forward to our next perform at the MAD Festival at Canyon High School on Saturday, April 27th. The event will be from 4pm to 7pm. Our performance time is still pending. Please save the date.
Aloha/Ia Orana/Talofa/Kia ora Kalakeke Haumana/Feti’i/Tamaitiiti/Ākonga and Makua/Hui Metua/Matua! I would like to thank each and everyone of you for being part of our Kalakeke PIDC Family! We value each and everyone of you! We are very fortunate that each of you have chosen to continue your journey and learning as a Polynesian/Pacific Island Dance Practitioner! Our goal is to ensure that you are continuing to receive the knowledge and training we pride ourselves in providing. We pray that each and everyone of you are safe and healthy. If there is anyway we can assist you, not only through our classes, but personal needs as well, we are here for you! Please let us know! Again, thank you for allowing us to share out Culture, Dance and Music! Much Aloha!
Team Page Passwords
We will change the Password for each team page Monthly and as needed. We will send the new Passwords for each month, via WhatsApp Text. If you are not currently on WhatsApp, please join as soon as possible. Below are the instructions on how to join. If you have not received the new password, the following my be the issue:
- You are not currently on WhatsApp
- Your tuition is not paid and current
- You are required to contact us directly
Please contact us as soon as possible if you have any questions or concerns.
Please remember we do have a Dress Code which includes a Class Pa’u Skirt. You will be required to wear a Pa’u skirt during Hula and a Pareu during Ori Tahiti. Please be sure to check your Dress Code for complete Information.

Student Binder & Reward Stamps/Stickers
Student Binder
The Student Binder is not required but encouraged. It was designed to provide each Kalakeke Student an additional learning resource to add to your learning experience. Each Student can request a Personalized Binder Cover Page and Reward Stamp/Sticker Page.
Reward Stamps
- Each student has the opportunity to collect stickers by doing the following:
- Showing up to class in proper dress code
- Bringing class binder with all necessary materials (updated music lyrics and required documents)
- At the end of each season the Stamps can be used to redeem prizes such as candy, gift cards, etc.
